Weight Management Exclusive — High-Protein, Low-Calorie Foods for Weight Loss Regular consumption of a "low-calorie diet" — limiting energy intake to a set amount (800–1,200 kcal per day) within a defined period — forces the body to burn stored energy, thereby achieving weight-loss goals.

Weight Control
Occasionally consuming the "low-calorie diet" while maintaining a balanced diet to keep a healthy body shape.

The Three Stages of the Low-Calorie Diet

Stage 1 — Initial: 900–1,000 kcal/day

Goal: Change previous eating habits. Recommended for 1–3 weeks, consuming weight-management foods together with regular foods.

Recommendation: 2 meal replacements per day, or 2 high-protein formulated foods (as part of a main meal) per day + 1 high-protein snack per day.

Stage 2 — Transition: 1,200 kcal/day

Goal: Reduce the proportion of weight-management foods in your daily diet and increase regular foods — especially slow-release carbohydrates. Weight will continue to decrease, and the diet becomes more varied.
Recommendation: 1 meal replacement per day, or 1 high-protein formulated food (as part of a main meal) per day + 1 high-protein snack per day.

Stage 3 — Stabilization: 1,600 kcal/day (goal weight)

Goal: Return to regular eating while consolidating weight-loss results. This stage is mainly for supplementing — or preventing — situations where customers cannot stick to a healthy diet. Whenever customers feel they have eaten too much, they can turn to weight-management foods. The key role of this stage is to prevent weight regain.
Recommendation: 1 meal replacement per day, or 1 high-protein formulated food (whenever customers feel the need).

Recognized by the European Food Safety Authority
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has affirmed the benefits of meal replacement foods as part of its scientific evaluation of health claims. EFSA's Panel on Dietetic Products, Nutrition and Allergies (NDA Panel) issued a positive opinion on meal replacement foods.

Two benefits of meal replacement foods have been substantiated:

Weight loss

Weight control

Claims for meal replacement foods must meet the following requirements:

Compliance with European legislation currently in force

Provision of no more than 250 kcal per serving

Total daily energy intake within 800–1,600 kcal
